BILLIE & BEYOND is a music series showcasing the next generation of female vocalists and instrumentalists who are lighting up the stage with jazz, R&B, gospel, and more continuing the legacy of Billie Holiday’s artistry and activism.
Our featured artist, Melanie Charles, is a Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter, actress, and flutist of Haitian descent, with a creative fluidity spanning jazz, soul, experimental, and Haitian roots music.
