DESCRIPTION:Exploring The Billie’s musical roots and in homage to its namesake – the legendary Billie Holiday\n\n\nBILLIE & BEYOND is a music series showcasing the next generation of female vocalists and instrumentalists who are lighting up the stage with jazz\, R&B\, gospel\, and more continuing the legacy of Billie Holiday’s artistry and activism. \nOur featured artist\, Lala\, is a Haitian-American singer\, songwriter\, and actress whose work spans Broadway\, television\, and film. Since stepping into the music scene\, she has been spotlighted by Rolling Stone\, i-D Magazine\, and NPR\, where she emerged as a standout entry in the 2022 Tiny Desk Contest.
